I want to thank everyone who supported me for another great year.  I am officially closed for the season,  BUT   if you still need a plant fix I am here working.  Shoot me an e-mail to come and visit.  I am still landscaping so I am in and out of the nursery so I would hate for you to come and nobody is here.

The 2011 season was good but I am always looking for ways to improve.  2011 brought in many garden clubs and even big group of garden bloggers.  I hear so many request for snacks or water I decided to build a small farm stand.  I am in the permitting process now and things are looking very excited.  Don't worry I won't be serving you coffee very often, my friend Ashley Ellingson Waag will be the queen barista.  I better learn some coffee lingo since I have never had a espresso or latte' before.  I am very excited.  It is going to be a wonderful green building with a living roof.  We will have outdoor seating as well.  I plan on opening this March.  If you are a garden group or just a group of folks looking to spend a nice day e-mail me at dragonflyfarms@centurytel.net and make and appointment for lunch and a private tour of the gardens and shopping of course.

Also for next season we have been having a great local garden tour to benefit ladies aid.  In 2012 I will be teaming up with them and having our first garden art festival.  I have been collecting cards of local artist who would love to came and share in the festival and show off their creations for sale.  If any of you know me I think I like cool hand made garden art as much as the plants.  This should be a blast. I will be posting in the what's new section of the website as to what will be happening next year.

Also next year I have invited a couple of specialty nurseries here to sell their cool plants.  These nurseries are normally open to the public to this is a great opportunity to buy some fantastic plants.  My first gust nursery is Kate Hammon with Eglon nursery.  Kate is one of the premier maple growers in the county plus one of the most knowlegable and nicest ladies every.  She just lives down the road and will bring her great trees here and set up in the pasture and sell trees some not seen before at great prices.  We haven’t chosen a date yet.  Probably May.

You can also check out the dragonfly farms facebook page on the progress of the coffee shop and nursery this winter.

This is a cool bocconia frutescens in the garden. It isn't totally hardy so I dug it up and brought it in.  Tory thought it being so woody that it probably would have died to the ground and would come back.  I collected seeds so I will have more next year.
This is a cool perennial nasturtium.  It is a tuberous bulb like a dahlia.  This is covering a ugly viburnum tinus  .  It is November 13th and it is blooming like crazy.  I just planted a little 4 inch pot this spring.  I will have a few in the spring for sale.
Here is the new Dragonfly cafe'. I am so excited to be opening this in March of 2012.   There will be seating inside and out.  We will have coffee and snacks.  Fresh vegetables from Broken ground farm.  Its not huge but a great addition to the fun things already here.
This is a pretty maple.  I look through my pictures and most of my pictures are in the fall. I think I like the fall so much since I know winter is coming.
This is a great orb made by my friend Ray.  This is for sale and this can give you an idea of what you can do yourself.  This isn't quite finished but pretty cool.
We will be at the 2nd annual Bloedel plant sale April 14 & 15.  Eglon Nursery will be the guest nursery selling specialty maples here April 28 & 29.  Don't miss it.
